Anjung Karyawan Melaka

Anjung Karyawan Melaka (loosely translated as “Melaka Literature Corner”) was officially launched by the Rt. Hon. Datuk Seri Hj. Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam, Chief Minister of Melaka on the 25th July 2010. Located on the ground floor of Kampung Buku Malaysia Melaka, it was an idea mooted by the Chief Minister with the following objectives:-

  • To collect and catalogue books about the State of Melaka including books written by authors originating from Melaka
  • To serve as a reference and resource centre for such books where users have the option to read and/or purchase the books
  • To promote the culture of reading especially among families, children and young adults
  • To promote interest and awareness of Melaka including its history, development, people and opportunities.

Currently, the collection has more than 200 books and is constantly expanding. Its range covers fiction, biographies, poems, history of Melaka, travel guides and tourism, culture and other genres.

Many of the books were donated by publishers, government agencies and writers as they share the vision and objective of Anjung Karyawan Melaka.

The members of the public and visitors are also encouraged to donate suitable books and all donated books will be inscribed with the name of the donor and the date of donation. Kindly contact Mr. Mohd Firdaus Yahya at 606-251 9181 / 013-645-4497 or email him at mat_key27@yahoo.com for further inquiries. You can also email the Chief Executive Office of Hang Tuah Jaya Corporation at lindasuelin@gmail.com.

An online catalogue is provided here for your reference (click here). However, kindly take note that this catalogue will be constantly updated. Therefore, feel free to contact us for the latest updates.
